The North Georgia Stock and Fair Association Medal  
THE NORTH GEORGIA STOCK AND FAIR ASSOCIATION, 1880. 50mm. Silver .Unsigned, but the work is of high quality. Obverse with a robed female seated, her arm extended holding a wreath, supported by a shield with a plow below. In the background are farm animals, a steam locomotive with two cars and North Georgia mountains in the distance. State of Georgia seal on shield lady's arm is resting on. THE NORTH GEORGIA STOCK AND FAIR ASSOCIATION, ATLANTA GA. in outer circle. On the reverse, an open wreath with a beehive at bottom surrounds the struck inscription: AWARDED TO/ (engraved) E. WHITMAN SONS & CO./ FOR BEST/ (engraved) CORN & Y COB MILL/ANNUAL FAIR (engraved) 1880.

 
     
Georgia State Ag medal Georgia State Agricultural Society medal  
•Bronze, approx. 6 mm thick; 59 mm (approx. 2.25 in.) diameter.
•The obverse features Columbia, seated wearing a long chiton and holding a laurel wreath. Beside her is a cornucopia and a cotton bale. In the middle ground various domestic animals graze; a train passes in the distance, and on the horizon is the ocean with a sailing ship. Around the perimeter is inscribed "Georgia State Agricultural Society"
•On the reverse is the coat of arms of Georgia; around the perimeter is inscribed "In Industry We Thrive;" beneath the coat of arms is inscribed "Awarded To" (no engraving has been made). Around the bottom is inscribed the manufacturer's name: "Sharp & Floyd" and "Atlanta Ga" (Sharp and Floyd were jewelers in Atlanta who made medals for many trade organizations.)

Columbus GA Industrial Association Award Medal - 1870's. 57mm. Silver. 60.3 grams. Unsigned. Attractively toned. Extremely Find. The obverse central devise is a close copy of a portion of the Georgia Confederate Seal in 1861. Below is the partial date 187 . The surrounding legend reads: COLUMBUS INDUSTRIAL ASSOCIATION * COLUMBUS GA. * The reverse legend: AGRICULTURE. MECHANICS. MANUFACTURES surrounds an open wreath inscribed near the top: AWARDED/TO. The open space below is not inscribed.

The Atlanta Agricultural & Industrial Association Award Medal, ND. Lindesmith Georgia 2. 58.7mm Copper. W.H. Key,Sc. (Sharp & Floyd, Atlanta.). Mostly Red Un circulated. Obverse with the legend: THE ATLANTA AGRICULTURAL & INDUSTRIAL ASSOCIATION around a bird's eye view of the exposition grounds within a center circle. W.H. Key. F. Phila in tiny letters in the exergue. The reverse legend: ENERGY AND INDUSTRY LIFE OF TRADE is above CONSTITUTION above 3 columns (a close copy of a portion of the Georgia Confederate Seal of 1861). Partial wreath at bottom and below, in small letter, SHARP & FLOYD ATLANTA.

Industrial Association of Georgia Exposition Award Medal, CA. 1870's. 44.8 Bronze Unsigned. Brown. Inscribed at the top of obverse is INDUSTRY above a beehive, flanked by cornucopia. Below is a shield broken in to 4 segments depicting representative scenes of industry, agriculture, ccommerce and the arts. The reverse legend, INDUSTRIAL ASSOCIATION OF GEORIGA is above CONSTITUTION above 3 columns (a close copy of a portion of the Georgia Confederate Seal of 1861). EXPOSITION below, and above a space for inscription.

August GA "Carnival And Trades Display. Held Jan. 20-23 1891", HK626. Obverse says "SOUVENIR OF OUR CARNIVAL: Jester or clown doing jig or dance; in r. background is group of tunic-clad soldiers holding shields and long upright lances; in l. background is two-horse chariot carrying two men, one holding high a banner; above all Souvenir of Our Carnival; beaded border. 37.7mm, Looks silver but could be white medal. Great condition. Ribbon attached.
   

1898 Spanish American War - Atlanta Peace Jubilee Medals. Middle photos is reverse of medal to the left, which is 34mm.

 

Fifieth Anniversary of the Fox Theatre 1979 - Atlanta Landmarks, Inc. 75mm, 6mm wide. Atlanta Landmarks, Inc. under Fox Theatre on reverse. Julian H. Harris in small letters at botton of obverse. Julian H. Harris (1907-1987) graduated from Georgia Tech in 1928 with a B.S. in architecture and soon became a noted free-lance sculptor, contributing many sculptures to the Atlanta area. Some of his work for the Georgia Tech campus includes ten busts of famous engineers and scientists, the bronze gate of the Naval Armory, and the stained glass window in Brittain Dining Hall and this medal for the Fox Threatre Anniversary.
